Warm summers and mild winters make the Temecula/Murrieta area a perfect environment for cockroaches. Vineyard Valley Pest Control uses targeted treatments that address the breeding and hiding habits of these resilient pests to keep them out of your home or business.
The Culprit
There’s a new cockroach in town, and it’s taking over the territory of other roaches. Meet the Turkestan Cockroach (sometimes referred to as “the red runner cockroach”).
What is their habitat?
These roaches prefer to live outside, dining on decaying plant matter in your yard, but (like all crawling insects), they can enter your home through small crevices/openings around doors and windows.
What do they look like?
The adult female is a rusty-red color, and the adult male is a muted orange/tan color.
Where do they come from?
The Turkestan Cockroach is native to Central Asia and they’re prevalent across the Middle East. It is believed that they came to the United States inside military equipment when it was returned a few decades ago.
How are they controlled?
Fortunately, these cockroaches are easy to control with professional products applied to areas outside where they live and breed. Professional bait can be used in garages or indoors if any have found their way inside.
Fast-moving and hard to spot, Turkestan cockroaches thrive outdoors but often invade garages and entryways. Our perimeter treatments keep them out for good. Schedule a service with us to defend your home today.
